REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The seat verse is the 255th verse of al Baqarah's letter. In a number of hadiths it is mentioned that the verse of the chair has many privileges and virtues in it. Recitation of the Chair verse

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَّهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَىْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

Allahu laa ilaaha illaa huw al-hayyul qayyuum. Laa ta' khuzuhu sinatuw wa laa na'um, lahuu maa fisamaawaati wa maa fil-ard, man zallazi yasyfa'u 'indahuu illaa bi iznih, ya'lamu maa baina aidiihim wa maa khalfahum, wa laa yuhiituna bisyai im min 'ilmihii illaa bimaa syaa wasi'a kursiyyuhus samaawaati wal-ard, wa laa ya 'uduhu hifzuhumaa wa huwal-'aliyyul-'aziim.

"God, there is no God (who has the right to be worshipped) but he who lives eternally again constantly taking care of (His creatures); not sleepy and not sleeping. His possession is what is in the heavens and on the earth. No one can intercede on God's side without His permission? God knows nothing before them and behind them, and they know nothing from the knowledge of God but what He wants. The seat of God covers the heavens and the earth. And Allah does not feel the weight of keeping both, and Allah is all-high again most great." The virtues and benefits of reading the Chair verse

Sheikh Ali Jaber in his study once said that reading the chair verse after prayer can bring goodness. Even in a hadith, the Messenger of Allah said that whoever is the one who reads the verse after prayer, then heaven is the guarantee.

"Man qara-a ayatal-kursiyyi dubura kulli shalatin maktubah, lima yamana'hu min dukhulil-jannati illa an yamut,".

Which means, "Whoever recites the verse of the chair after every fardhu prayer, then nothing can prevent him from going to heaven except death,".
