5 Priority of Chair Sentences for Muslims, What Are You?

A number of hadiths mention the virtues of the Chair Verse for Muslims. The Chair Verse can be read at any time from to the end of the activity, in the morning or evening.

The Verse of the Chair is the verse in the Quran surah Al Baqarah verse 255. Shaifurrahman El-Fati in a book entitled The Great Benefits of Dhikr Asmaul Husn explained, The Verse of the Chair was passed down after the Hijra. Here are the virtues of the Chair Verse

1. The Most Important Verse in the Quran

Quoting from the book Tafsir Jalalain and Ibn Katsir in a sahih hadith from the Prophet Muhammad SAW, the Verse of the Chair is the foremost in the Quran. Imam Ahmad also stated the same.

It means: "Have told us Abdur Razzaq, have told us Sufyan, from Sa'id Al-Jariri of Abus Salil of Abdullah Ibn Rabah of Ubay ibn Ka'b that the Prophet SAW once asked him, Which Verse of Kitabullah is the most glorious? Ubay replied, "Allah and His Messenger know better." Prophet SAW repeated his question, so Ubay replied, "Verse of the Chair." Then the Prophet SAW said: Congratulations with the knowledge you have, O Abdul Munzir. For the sake of God whose soul is in the grasp of His holiness, indeed the Verse of the Chair has an oral and lip-long that always purifies Almighty God near the pillar of Arasy." (HR Muslim).

Ustaz Ramdhani from the official website of the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) said, one of the virtues of the Seat Verse is that nothing can prevent it from going to heaven. The Chair verse can be changed every time you finish performing the fardhu prayer.

This primacy is explained by Prophet Muhammad SAW in his hadith,

That is to say: "Whoever recites the verse of the chair after every obligatory prayer, then nothing can prevent him from going to heaven except death." (HR An Nasa'i).

3. Avoided By Demons Until Morning

Another hadith history mentions, the Messenger of Allah SAW explained the virtues of the Chair Verse before going to bed. This primacy is given by Allah Almighty to guard until the morning. Here's the hadith from Abu Hurairah,

It means: "... if you are going to go to your bed then read the verse of the chair till completion which is the reading 'Allahu laa ilaha illa huwal hayyul qoyyum'. For verily he (may make you) always be in the care of God and neither will satan approach you until the morning." (HR. Bukhari)

4. His Majesty Exceeds Heaven and Earth

The hadith further mentions the virtues of the next Verse of the Chair. The Verse of the Chair contains a majesty that exceeds heaven and earth, following the hadith,

That is to say: As Abdullah ibn Mas'ud recounted: "It is not that Allah created the heavens and the earth beyond the greatness of the Chair Verse (for in that verse it has included the Name and Nature of Allah)." Sufyan ats-Tsauri said, "For the verse of the chair is (one of) kalamullah (words of Allah), while kalamullah is greater than God's creation which is heaven and earth" (HR Tirmidzi).

5. Equivalent to Reading a Quarter of the Quran

Quoted from the book Islamic Question and Answer by Habib Mumu BSA, et al, in the book Taisiril Ushul Ila Jami' Ushul Min Hadith Rasul SAW by a great scholar Asy-Shaikh Abdurrahman Ad-Diba'iy Asy-Shaibani Asy-Shafi'i, it is narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said:

"Indeed, all things must have a hump and the hump is that the Quran is the letter of Al Baqarah and in it there is the beginning of the verses of the Quran that is, the Verse of the Chair." (HR At Tirmidzi).

In addition, here is the reading of the Chair Verse and its meaning:

It means: "God, there is no God (who has the right to be worshipped) but he who lives eternally again constantly taking care of (His creatures); not sleepy and not sleeping. His possession is what is in the heavens and on the earth. No one can intercede on God's side without His permission? God knows nothing before them and behind them, and they know nothing from the knowledge of God but what He wants. The seat of God covers the heavens and the earth. And Allah does not feel the weight of keeping both, and Allah is all-high again most great."
